How life really is, in under 5 minutes...

This has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile, enjoy!

Every once in awhile you have those near-death experiences that make you come so close to death, you wonder how you made it out alive. Well, I had another one of those experiences last night.

It was Dan's 30th birthday party up at one of our favorite bars. We all had a lot of fun and when they kicked us out, we decided to do after hours up in Grimes. I was driving my car with Eric riding shotgun and we were following our new friend Kim out to her place in Grimes to pick up the booze.

We take the side streets until we get to the divided highway going up to Grimes. There are two lanes going north and two lanes going south with a ditch in between them. The time we got to that stretch of road we happened to be next to everyone else riding home in the minivan. They were in the lead in the right lane, then Kim was in the left lane next to them and I was right behind Kim. The stretch of road is very dark and there's nothing around the area.

Eric and I are cruising along talking when all of a sudden Kim's brakelights light up and she slams on her brakes. This caught me off guard and I slow down suddenly coming within 20 feet of her rear bumper. She then suddenly jumps over to the right lane behind the minivan. My eyes followed her car and I was thinking what was going on, is there a deer up ahead or something in the road? My eyes slowly come back to my lane and that's when I see two headlights coming right at me. Without even thinking I jerk the wheel to the right, my car gets in the right lane and some car flies by me doing about 80 mph. I think we missed each other by less than 10 feet.

Eric immediately starts freaking out, I start laughing. He then tells me that he didn't have his seatbelt on, I tell him it wouldn't have mattered. For 2 cars going that fast in a head-on collision, you'd be lucky if anyone made it out alive.

We finally get to our friend's place and we are hysterical sharing our stories. We all knew that car could have hit anyone of us, but we all made it out unharmed.

I woke up early today and couldn't fall back asleep. It was running through my mind over and over and I was having flashbacks of the headlights coming at me. Let's hope this doesn't make me any more messed up than I already am!
